From September 22 to October 1, 2013, the 3rd Islamic Solidarity Games (ISG) took place in Palembang, Indonesia. More than 3,000 athletes from more than 50 countries were represented at the games, competing in 18 sports. The host nation, Indonesia, won the overall medal count with 104 total medals: 36 gold, 34 silver, and 34 bronze. Iran finished second, and Egypt finished third.
